It’s hot, ya’ll. Like sweat lodge hot, here in the south. And when it’s hot, there’s nothing better than a yummy milkshake to cool ya down. Problem is, these milkshakes typically pack a big fat zero in the nutrition department. But never fear my lovelies, I have a recipe to solve that dilemma.
Peanut Butter (I chose the Skippy Dark Chocolate because it only has 9g of sugar per 2tbs and is dairy free)
Protein Powder (The Raw Meal is my favorite. This is the Vanilla Chai flavor. It’s dairy free, GMO free, it’s vegan, and just has some pretty awesome ingredients. I did a video review on this brand HERE)
Add into your blender cup (the Nutribullet is seriously the bomb.com) the ripe banana, 1 tbs of peanut butter, 1 cup of almond milk, 1 serving of protein powder, and ice. I also add a bit more water to the “fill” line on my blender cup.
Blend baby, blend.
This comes out super smooth and literally tastes like a chocolate peanut butter milkshake. This is another shake that can easily replace a meal. In the hot summer months, this is a great breakfast item. After drinking this, I’m pretty much full until it’s time for lunch. No need for sweets either, cause that tooth’s been satisfied. There’s a million different ways to do this shake. You can replace the banana with peaches, and the omit the peanut butter. You can use chocolate protein powder and add raspberries for a really decadent shake. Add chia seeds for omegas and an energy boost. You’ve got options people.
Let me know if you try this out!
